New traditions

This Christmas I decided to make an advent calendar for Cash, we did little activities or he got a small present each day--which he thoroughly enjoyed. We read about Jesus' birth just about every day and Cash was excited about celebrating the birth of God's son. (And also mostly excited about treats.)

This was his first snow globe and he was kind of weirded out by it. haha. But he got used to it and now likes it a lot.

When I was working the few days before Christmas I got in a conversation with an older gentleman who ask if Cash understood Santa and was excited about him coming. (This is a common question I received frequently this holiday season.) When I explained that we don't really talk too much about Santa (not because he's bad or anything, he just doesn't come up in conversation frequently) and that Cash was more excited about it being Jesus' birthday--the man's eyes welled up with tears and he responded in this way, "I am so glad---I'm so glad that I stopped and talked with you. Merry Christmas!"

It was a small yet very sweet moment that meant a lot to me during that long 10 hour shift.
